Have you ever fancied being part of a local amateur dramatics group? Whether you dream of treading the boards or helping out behind the scenes, The Monkton Players would love to welcome you!
We’re a friendly, welcoming group based in Monkton Heathfield, and we’re currently preparing for our next production running from 30 October to 1 November. Now is the perfect time to get involved!
What kind of shows do we do?
We perform light-hearted comedies only – no musicals or pantomimes, because quite frankly… none of us can sing! 😂 If you enjoy making people laugh, you’ll fit right in.
We’re looking for:
🎬 Actors – all ages and experience levels welcome
🔦 Backstage crew – help with props, lighting, sound and set
📖 Prompters – help keep the cast on track
🎟️ Front of house – selling tickets, making teas, running the raffle, and greeting our lovely audience
No Auditions – Ever!
That’s right – we don’t hold auditions. If you want to join in, you’re in! Whether you’ve performed before or are totally new, we’ll help you find a role that suits you.
Rehearsals & Commitment
📍 Rehearsals take place at West Monkton Village Hall
- Tuesdays at 8:00pm
- Thursdays at 7:30pm
🛠️ Closer to the production, we also meet at weekends for set building and painting.
Social Side
Outside of show season, we stay active with regular social events, and every Tuesday at 9:00pm you’ll find us at The Merry Monk pub for a relaxed catch-up and a drink.
Membership
Joining The Monkton Players costs just £25 a year – and for that you’ll be part of something creative, social and fun.
